Power Edge T330/T130 Motherboard Intel Xeon E3-1240 Server

This question is not answered

Hi,

I want to remove the raid pci-e card and disconnect the HDD Board and add 2 SSD HDD and want to connect to the SATA connector but in the Mainboard there are only 2 SATA connector with different color.

The reason is that I need all 4 PCI-e slots and one is currently occupied with the Raid Board.

How can I manage this situation  and can I use the 2 free SATA connectors?

  • Hi,

you can use the two SATA ports, they are designed to connect optical drive and/or tape drive.

But when you remove the RAID COntroller your hard drives are not able to work any longer, they need the connection to the controller.

I guess this system is not the right one for the plans you have - btw. what plan do you follow?

    Cheers,
    Stefan
